West Richter Jr. is Immediate Past President of the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus. Serving on the board of directors since 2016, West has held numerous roles overseeing membership, development, and technology efforts before being elected as President. In addition to his board service, he has served as a professional singer in the Tenor section since 2015.
As a performer, West has crafted a diverse repertoire ranging from German and French art song to virtuosic opera. He has held numerous solo recitals and made appearances with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Chamber Singers, and the University at Buffalo Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, West has spent time coaching vocal techniques and hosting workshops for students from middle school through late career.
Outside of his musical endeavors, West is the Director of Global IT Quality and Process Management at Moog Inc., where he is responsible for leading large-scale transformation efforts to maintain and improve technology service delivery. Prior to his role at Moog, West served as a Vice President at M&T Bank where he led the Tech Academy, a technology upskilling and reskilling facility serving M&T employees and underrepresented talent in the Western New York Community. He is on the faculty of the University at Buffalo School of Management, teaching courses in Technology and Innovation Management. Beyond his service to the BPC, he also serves as a board member for the University at Buffalo Alumni Association, and is Immediate Past-President of the City Honors/Fosdick-Masten Park Foundation.
West graduated from the University at Buffalo with a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance.
