DA CAPO

The Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus invites you to our 2026-27 season: DA CAPO. From the musical term for “from the top,” DA CAPO is all about new beginnings. The first season under Music Director Vernon Huff  will explore the chance to try something new, while maintaining what makes the BPC an enduring cultural institution in Western New York and beyond. This season, we present three amazing independent performances, each one an opportunity to showcase Dr. Huff to our outstanding audiences. Handel’s MESSIAH, our Western New York Holiday Tradition, will receive a refresh while remaining familiar and beloved by friends and families. We are thrilled to be collaborating with the Buffalo United Community Choir again this year for UNITED WE SING. This celebration of spirituals and gospel music will bring together more than 200 singers from across the region, and we are thrilled to have BUCC conductor Karen Saxon taking the podium for a portion of the concert. New this year is our Cornerstone Concert Series, a once-a-season, can’t-miss concert event. This year’s Cornerstone Concert is MASS IN BLUE, Will Todd’s blues-jazz fusion setting of the Latin Mass, paired with acclaimed American composer André Thomas’ MASS: A CELEBRATION OF LOVE AND JOY. We also have incredible collaborations with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, including the World Premiere of Richard Danielpour’s FRANCIS, presented in commemoration of the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi. Other collaborations include Poulenc’s GLORIA, Beethoven’s CHORAL FANTASY, JoAnn’s Classical Christmas, and Pops concerts for the Holidays and Memorial Day.
