Dear Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus Audience Members, Supporters, and Friends,
At the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus, our primary concern is the overall wellbeing of our singers and our community. As a result of the increasing concerns across the globe concerning the spread of COVID-19, as well as the specific regulations put in place by New York State, we will be suspending all rehearsals and concert activities for the BPC effective immediately. This decision was made after careful consideration by our Board of Directors and staff, and close monitoring of news and updates from local officials, national organizations, and the local performing arts community.
What does this mean?
· Rehearsals will be suspended until further notice to ensure the health and safety of our singers.
· Our "Return to Middle Earth" concert with the Buffalo Niagara Concert Band scheduled for April 25th at the Buffalo Grand Hotel will be rescheduled to Fall 2020. This reschedule is a result of state restrictions on gatherings over 500 people. We will keep everyone updated as we have more information on a rescheduled date for this performance.
· Our performance of Bach's Magnificat and Robert Cohen's "Alzheimer's Stories" is still scheduled for June 7th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. We will continue to re-assess this performance over the coming weeks as more information becomes available.
It is with heavy hearts that we put our season on hold, as being able to share our love of singing with each other and our community is the driving force behind our organization. However, we are also committed to the health and safety of our community, and look forward to coming together again in the future. On behalf of all of us at the BPC, thank you for your understanding, and please stay safe.
Thank you for your continued support.
-The BPC Board of Directors and Staff
