BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus is proud to unveil its 2024-2025 season, titled "Lyrics of Life." This exciting series celebrates the profound connection between poetry and music through three distinct concert events, all conducted by Dr. Adam Luebke.
The season includes:
“The 2024-2025 BPC season is an exciting exploration of great choral settings of great poetry,” says BPC Music Director Adam Luebke, “In addition to our signature performance of Messiah, we highlight a distinguished community voice, Buffalo's poet laureate, Jillian Hanesworth adding her voice alongside lush choral settings of Shakespeare, Langston Hughes, and Sara Teasdale. To close out the season we present a groundbreaking world premiere by American composer Lee Hoiby. Known for his operas and art songs, Hoiby brings his lyrical approach to text to the great American poet Walt Whitman, in A Whitman Symphony.”
As a nonprofit symphonic chorus, the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus is committed to providing the highest quality performances of choral music to the Western New York community. The organization serves both as an independent performing ensemble and as the primary choral partner of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.
