On July 1, 2022 the BPC Board of Directors appointed Dr. Madeline Harts as the new Executive Director of the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus.
The Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus is pleased to announce the appointment of our first Executive Director, Dr. Madeline Harts, by the Board of Directors as of July 1, 2022. As she steps into her new role, Madeline brings to the Chorus her commitment to choral artistry and advancement as we prepare for the 2022-2023 season.
Madeline is an arts administrator, music educator, and singer originally from East Aurora, New York. An active singer with the BPC for over a decade, she officially joined our staff in January of 2022 as the Associate Director of Development and Administration. Her background as an administrator, combined with a passion for choral music and comprehensive understanding of both our Chorus as an organization and the current arts institution landscape, will help to further advance the mission of the BPC as we celebrate our 85th year. She will manage all operations for Buffalo’s largest and most celebrated choral organization, leading all initiatives, from fundraising and marketing to community engagement and education outreach.
Prior to her position with the BPC, Madeline served as the Director of Community Engagement and Assistant Director of Education for the Toledo Opera Company and held voice faculty positions at SUNY Fredonia School of Music, Niagara University, and the University at Buffalo. In addition to her responsibilities with the BPC, she also serves on the music faculty at the Buffalo Seminary. Madeline holds degrees in music from Ithaca College, Bowling Green State University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from the University of Miami Frost School of Music.
