Abigail Rockwood plays harpsichord, organ, and piano. She is honored to serve as pianist for the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus. Abigail plays regularly with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Buffalo Chamber Players, and has previously worked with St. Paul’s Cathedral, Buffalo State University, and the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus, among others.
Abigail earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at the Eastman School of Music, where she studied organ with David Higgs, harpsichord with William Porter, and piano with Tony Caramia. She also holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music (M.Mus) and Hope College (B. Mus). Other significant teachers include Todd Wilson, Huw Lewis, and Charles Aschbrenner. Awards include first place in the Rodland Competition and Strader Competition, Peter B. Knock Award, Adele Heinrich Award (Cleveland Institute of Music), Lilly Scholar, Hope College Trustee Scholarship.
